Many celebs, be they politicians, musicians, or even politicians, have been a big part of the last century. These are names that have not only shaped our lives but many have lived through events that changed the entire world. These are some of the most famous senior celebs who still look great for their age whether it be due to surgery or merely aging like a fine bottle of wine.
Sylvester Stallone – Age: 73

Age certainly isn’t slowing down ‘Sly’ Stalone. Despite being the center of several internet “death hoaxes” over the years, Stallone is still very much alive and kicking and even recently reprised his iconic role of John Rambo. Stallone also appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as a member of the original team of Guardians, making us wonder if we’ll be seeing more of him in the Marvel movies in the future.
Ali MacGraw – Age: 81

Ali MacGraw rose to widespread fame for her role in the 1970s movie “Love Story” where she starred opposite Ryan O’Neal. Once named as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People by People magazine, MacGraw is still stunning to this day. Truly an inspiration to us all.
Kirk Douglas – Age: 103

No one can deny that Kirk Douglas is an absolute Hollywood legend. Known for his many outstanding performances in films such as Spartacus, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Ulysses, Douglas had a spectacular career. However, he didn’t merely manage to survive Hollywood. He also lived through the Second World War as a member of the navy, he also survived a stroke at the age of 80. And that was after surviving a helicopter crash back in 1991. Sadly Kirk Douglas passed away in February of 2020 at the age of 103.
Bolo Yeung – Age: 73

Bolo Yeung is not only known for being a skilled martial artist and bodybuilder, but he also starred in several well-known films such as Bloodsport with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Enter The Dragon with the legendary Bruce Lee. While he has since retired as an actor, Bolo is still quite active in the industry and has even taken to the director’s chair for several projects.
Denise Austin – Age: 63

Denise Austin is undoubtedly one of the best examples of a healthy lifestyle leading to aging gracefully. A well-known fitness instructor during the 1980s, Austin follows a regime of daily exercise and a balanced diet which has clearly worked in her favor. Reruns of her fitness show, Getting Fit With Denise Austin are still being aired today. Her daughter has followed in her footsteps by creating a fitness line called Get Fit with Katie.
Kristy McNichol – Age: 57

Kristy McNichol first made her mark when she appeared on the TV series ‘Family’ where she played teenager Letitia ‘Buddy’ Lawrence. However, her career only skyrocketed after that, playing in numerous other series and commercials. She has also been nominated for both Emmys and Grammys for her myriad of performances! Despite her fantastic career, McNichols decided to retire from the limelight in 2001.
Carol Channing – Age: 97

Anyone who loves musicals will certainly be familiar with Carol Channing. Her spectacular singing voice quickly gained attention and she starred in various well-known films such as Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hello Dolly!, and Gentleman Prefer Blondes. Channing took great care when it came to her diet and what she put in her body and still looked amazing at the age of 97. Sadly Carol Channing passed away in 2019 at the age of 97.
Hal Holbrook – Age: 95

While many people of the younger generations might not recognize his name, Hal Holbrook has had a stellar career and was even listed as one of the greatest craftsmen of stage and screen by IMDB. He is well-known for his critically acclaimed 1954 stage-show, Mark Twain Tonight, which rocketed him to stardom. He has amassed quite the resume on both stage and film and can even be seen making cameo and guest-starring roles in TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and NCIS.
Diahann Carroll – Age: 84

Not only is Diahann Carroll an accomplished stage and film actress, but she’s also well-known as a model and singer. One of her biggest accolades, however, was that she was the first non-white woman to appear on a TV show back in the 1950s. This achievement made her a role model for many other black women hoping to get their break in the industry. As if this wasn’t remarkable enough, in 1962 she also became the first African-American woman to ever win a Tony award. Carroll retired from acting after beating breast cancer but sadly she passed away in October of 2019.
Lex Luger – Age: 62

Know as ‘The Total Package’ during his 1980s and 90s wrestling career, Lex Luger competed in both the World Championship Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation. However, this powerhouse didn’t only excel in the ring. He also played in the NFL for the Miami Hurricanes. Sadly, a spinal stroke ended his career as an athlete but he still remains active being the scenes of the WWE.
Cicely Tyson – Age: 95

Best known for her stage and screen performances, Cicely Tyson was also a fashion model in her day. In 2011 she delivered an award-winning speech in the film The Help where she played the character, Constantine Bates. This is not surprising as she has dedicated herself to playing strong and positive role models for black women. Despite her age, Cicely Tyson has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.

Although over the years, many actors have played the infamous character of James Bond, one actor’s name remains synonymous with the much-loved suave British spy, and that is the name of Sean Connery. Connery actually started out on stage and stayed in theatre for quite a while, beginning his film career with Dr. No and six James Bond films. He has delivered a number of excellent performances in critically acclaimed films such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Untouchables, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, before announcing that he was retiring from acting at the respectable age of 77.

He played the iconic Jason Bourne in The Bourne Identity long before Matt Damon did, as well as performing in The Thorn Birds, and King Solomon’s Mines, and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold. Chamberlain has also been one of the first openly gay actors in the industry, a role model for many for not being ashamed of who you are and worried that the industry will judge you for it.

Sophia Loren was born in Italy and rose to fame in the United States of America, becoming a Hollywood sweetheart, appearing alongside the likes of Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, Gregory Peck, and Charlton Heston. Loren was also the first person to win an Academy Award for a film in a foreign language, and in 1962 at the Oscars, she won the Best Actress award for her leading role in the film Two Women. She didn’t stop there, this living legend has also been the recipient of a BAFTA, a Grammy, and several Golden Globe Awards, and in 1991 she received an honorary Academy Award for her body of work, being called ‘one of world cinema’s greatest treasures’. She also was one of the first actresses to start her own fragrance brand.

With his career spanning over eighty years, he has collaborated with Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles, as well as being pals with Charlie Chaplin. Other than his career as an actor, Lloyd is also known for his work as a director and producer. You may think that his advanced age would mean he has retired, but you would be wrong! Sidney Poitier – Age: 93

Sidney Poitier has earned himself quite a name as a Hollywood actor, having made history as the first black American actor to win an Oscar, as well as his many critically acclaimed performances. One such performance was in the film Lilies of the Field, which also earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor, and in 1974 he received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II. Other than acting, Poitier has also dipped his very talented toe in the fields of producing and directing.
Carl Reiner – Age: 98

Carl Reiner is a man of many talents, and a legend in American comedy, he has built up quite a resume in acting, singing, directing, and writing. Having worked alongside Mel Brooks and Dick Van Dyke, and most recently as Saul in the Blockbuster Ocean’s Eleven films. Over the years he has earned himself nine Emmy Awards, three as an actor, four as a writer, and two as a producer, as well as a Grammy Award. He is also a lifelong Democrat, and during the 2016 US Presidential Race, he was an outspoken supporter of Bernie Sanders. This talented lady has also featured in sixty films, including Hairspray, Cop Land, and Videodrome.

The sitcom was cut after one season, but Field had made a name for herself by then and went on to star in The Flying Nun, which ran for three seasons, as well as in a number of other television productions such as The Girl with Something Extra and Sybil, and most recently as the impressive matriarch in Brothers and Sisters. Field conquered the big screen too, starring in iconic films like Forest Gump and Mrs. Doubtfire. This actress has quite a number of accolades under her belt and a secure place as a favorite in the entertainment industry, but it seems that there is nothing that will cull this impressive actress’s passion for acting, as she still continues to work on a variety of projects in both film, television and theatre.

Here is the second favorite star of The Sound of Music, the Canadian actor Christopher Plummer who played Captain Von Trapp in the smash blockbuster film. Plummer has an astounding track record for critically acclaimed theatre performances and is thought to be the premier Shakespearean actor in the 20th century to have come out of North America. Plummer became the oldest actor to receive an Oscar, for the 2010 film Beginners, and this fabulous actor is still going strong, recently nominated for another Academy Award for the film All the Money in the World.
Bernadette Stanis – Age: 66

Bernadette Stanis made a name for herself during the 1970s with her character Thelma Ann in the hit CBS show Good Times, her sophistication and grace making her the epitome of black beauty in that era. Stanis later went on to appear to TV shows like The Cosby Show, The Parent Hood, and The Love Boat, and while still occasionally making guest appearances in various projects, she has mostly retired from the big screen to focus on her family. In 2006 she also released a book, Bernadette Stanis Situations 101, displayed her talents as a writer too.

After their marriage ended in 1973, Priscilla pursued a career in acting as well as developing a number of businesses. Priscilla managed to get Elvis Presley Enterprises up and running again, successfully transforming Lisa Marie’s (their daughter) inheritance to a $100 million estimate. Nice one Mom!

Harmon is probably most well-known for his role as the Secret Service Special Agent Simon Donovon on The West Wing, as well as the much loved Special Agent Jethro Gibbs in NCIS, which he is still playing today!
Tina Louise – Age: 86

Tina Louise has appeared in a number of film and television projects but is most well-known for her portrayal of the character Ginger Grant in US sitcom Gilligan’s Island. What you might not know is that Tina Louise actually burst onto the entertainment scene through her Broadway performances, and more interestingly, although she has taken a step back from acting, she is an active member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as well as a lifetime member of the Actors Studio. Louise has also published a number of books, including children’s books. She is a literacy and academic advocate, and volunteers as a tutor for New York City children with a non-profit organization, Learning Leaders, stating that when young students gain literary skills they gain a whole lot more too, such as “confidence, self-determination, and proof of their own potential”. What an inspirational woman!
Kim Novak – Age: 87

She is most well-known for her role in the Alfred Hitchcock film Vertigo, where she starred opposite James Stewart. Diana Serra Cary – Age: 101

The name Diana Serra Cary may not be familiar to you, as she is most associated with her screen name: Baby Peggy. Cary is considered to be the last living star of silent film, starting to star in films at the very young age of just 19 months! She has taken part in roughly 150 films, mostly as a child! Diana Serra Cary did not enjoy the harsh environment of the entertainment industry and decided to retire from the screen early, later being forced back onto the screen when her father’s step-father, a banker to whom she entrusted her earnings, lost all of her money. Years later she found success through writing, with her hit autobiography Whatever Happened to Baby Peggy? Sadly, Carry passed away at the beginning of 2020.
Victoria Principal – Age: 70

Honor Blackman – Age: 94

Honor Blackman, the British blonde bombshell, rose to fame in the television series of The Avengers, with her character of Cathy Gale. The role caught the attention of casting agents who then offered her the iconic role of Pussy Galore in the Bond film, Goldfinger. At 93 years old, she still looks gorgeous and we are sure that her martial arts skills have played a part in her fitness regimes that have got her looking so fine in her prime! Blackman is definitely a favorite on the list of those who have aged gracefully. Sadly, Blackman passed away at the beginning of April 2020.
Stan Lee – Age: 95

Stan Lee has never been one to let age get in the way of his success, with each new generation knowing his name and loving his creations as much as the last generation did. You’d be farfetched to find someone who wasn’t familiar with the Marvel characters such as Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Spiderman, and Thor, all of whom are his creations! If Stan Lee was not around, there would never have been any of the Avenger movies! Imagine! He retired from comic book writing, and even though he suffered some heart problems and had to wear a pacemaker, this legend is continued going and still made cameos for the Marvel Cinematic Universe installments. The world mourned the news that Stan Lee had passed away at the end of 2018 at the age of 95.
Nanette Fabray – Age: 97

Nanette Fabray began her career in the entertainment industry at the young age of 3 in the Vaudeville arena, going on to demonstrate her skills in tap dancing and singing. Fabray went on to perform in Broadway, before making the move to the big screen, going on to win Emmy and Tony Awards for various performances. While she was young she had a hard time in school which led her to believe that she had some kind of learning difficulties, she later learned that she actually had a conductive hearing loss. This discovery led Fabray onto the path of becoming an advocate of deaf people’s rights. Fabray passed away in February of 2018.

Carter was the 39th President, and perhaps his greatest accomplishment was in foreign policy, remains an outspoken advocate of human rights till today.

Dawn Wells is the only other surviving star (other than Tina Louise, also on our list) of the hit sitcom Gilligan’s Island, where she portrayed the character of Mary Ann Summers. You might not know that Dawn Wells is both beauty and brains. She was Miss Nevada in 1959 and went on to compete in the Miss America pageant. Originally, accepted to the prestigious Columbia to study medicine, she then found drama club and her future found a new course. Although no longer acting, Wells still teaches acting classes and participates in various theatre projects. Today she runs a clothing line for disabled people, The Wishing Wells Collections.

Vera Lynn was favorably nicknamed “The Forces Sweetheart”, as she began her singing career during the Second World War, her stunning voice giving much-needed comfort to soldiers during the terrible war. This English performer went on to fame, becoming known not just for her beautiful singing voice, but also for her acting in both film and television. For her 100th birthday Vera Lynn released an album named ‘Vera Lynn 100’, which is already quite inspiring at such an age, but even more impressive is that it reached number three in the charts!
Gene Reynolds – Age: 96

This handsome man became well-known, with his face becoming instantly recognizable with any number of performances in American television and film. However, his Hollywood career came to an abrupt end when a letter from the recruitment office arrived, calling him to enlist in the army to participate in World War II. After the war, Reynolds returned to the industry, but this time to be on the other side on the camera. Leaving acting behind, he became a famous and successful director who has received a number of accolades over the years, and probably still most well-known for creating the popular US television series, M*A*S*H. Reynolds sadly passed away at the start of February 2020.
Sally Struthers – Age: 72

Sally Struthers made a name for herself when she starred in the hit television series All in the Family as Gloria Stivic. Now at the age of 71, she is still an active participant in the entertainment industry, performing in theatre, television, and film. Adrienne Barbeau – Age: 74

Cleary has been nominated and won numerous awards for her outstanding work and contribution to American literature.
June Lockhart – Age: 94

June Lockhart has starred in both Broadway, television, and film. She is probably best known for her roles in television series Lassie and Lost in Space, as well as her fabulous performance in the Broadway production For Love or Money. In fact, her performance in For Love or Money was so fabulous she received a well-deserved Tony award for it. Patricia Morison was unforgettable, a knockout with beautiful blue eyes and her long shiny raven-black hair, she made a name for herself in Hollywood and on Broadway, with her Soprano singing voice and noteworthy acting skills. Katharine Ross first started acting in television westerns, actually making up the majority of her most well-known work, with her natural beauty and acting abilities landing her many roles in the genre. Some of her most notable projects were the films Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Stepford Wives, The Graduate, and Donnie Darko, and received a BAFTA Award for her part as Lola in the film Tell Them Willie Boy is Here. Living a quiet life with her husband of 33 years, she still makes the occasional appearance on various TV shows.

Unlike many others who go into acting seeking stardom, Jimmy Lydon actually started his career solely as a way to provide for his family, later coming to love his job and the craft. Born to a large Irish Catholic family in New York, Lydon overcame a birth defect and having an alcoholic father, to get where he is today. Lydon achieved success by starting out on Broadway and later performing in various television, film, and stage plays, eventually also lending his hand to producing, co-creating the hit TV series M*A*S*H with Gene Reynolds.

Caren Marsh-Doll is another one of the few remaining actresses from the Silent Film era. This star is not just an actress but also a fabulous professional dancer, most well-known for being Judy Garland’s dance double in the hit films The Wizard of Oz and Ziegfeld Girl. Marsh-Doll is lucky to have had the career she had, as when she was in a plane crash in 1949, doctors considered amputating her foot, luckily they found a way to fix her injury and she was able to dance again.
Marge Champion – Age: 100

Well did you know that the creators of that film made Marge Champion the model for Snow White, using her movements and dancing in the production? Marge Champion made a name for herself, earning status and wealth as a dancer and choreographer, we bet all that dancing helped her look so fabulous at the age of 98!
Bob Newhart – Age: 90

Before Bob Newhart made a name for himself in the entertainment industry he was an accountant in Chicago, and apparently hated every minute. Thankfully, he achieved success hitting the comedy circuits in the 1960s, going on to write and perform in a number of successful television shows such as Newhart and The Bob Newhart Show. Later he also extended his résumé to include film, starring in films such as The Rescuers and Elf. Despite his success in television Newhart is most well-known for his comedic monologue albums, even being nominated for a Grammy award in 2007 for his album I Shouldn’t Even Be Doing This, in the best spoken word album category.
Peggy Stewart – Age: 95

Another star who looks simply beautiful even at the age of 94! Peggy Stewart is most well-known for her performances in Westerns. She left the film business in 1953 to look after her family, but still dabbles in television occasionally, and also stayed active in the Los Angeles theatrical community. Peggy Stewart passed away in May of 2019.
Valentina Cortese – Age: 96

Valentina Cortese has accomplished a successful career in the entertainment industry and is noteworthy as one of the first, and few, Italian actresses to have achieved such success in the American film industry, amassing a number of award nominations for her performances over the years. Cortese passed away in 2019.

Actors and viewers were similarly disappointed when the television show Honeymooners was canceled after airing only one season, but despite this, one season was enough for the stars of the show to make their mark. Today Joyce Randolph is the only remaining living star of the Honeymooners quartet. After performing in the show, Randolph went on to act in a number of television shows as well as film, as well as several Broadway performances.

Crowned the Queen of England and the Commonwealth in 1952 at the young age of 25, when her father King George passed away, she has now held the throne for over 66 years! Queen Elizabeth is also one of the most loved monarchs, doing a huge amount for public relations and for the former British colonies across the Commonwealth.

Apparently, she began in radio because the movie execs of the time decided she wasn’t photogenic enough to feature in their projects. It seems hard to believe, but apparently it’s true. Today, though, she holds the special spot of the longest-running career of any female entertainer on television! So take that, movie execs of narrow vision! Although her fans are concerned about her looking after herself and her health, Betty White is showing no signs of any intention to retire any time soon, staying focused on her performance in various ongoing projects.
Prince Philip – Age: 98

Prince Philip was born into two respective royal families, one from Greece and the other from Denmark, the mix clearly a good one with his strong good looks. So it seems he was used to royalty before he married the long-reigning queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II. Having led quite a public life at the side of the Queen, he still attends Royal occasions and events with his wife, carrying out the duties of such a role with humor and grace, although the humor has been said to have occasionally got him into a bit of trouble!
Jerry Lee Lewis – Age: 84

Jerry Lee Lewis was born into a religious family that wasn’t very well-off and yet sold their house to get young Jerry Lee Lewis a piano, which he loved and can probably be accredited to have been the beginning of this Rock-n-Roll legend. Jerry Lee Lewis started to establish a name for himself in Memphis after writing and selling a song together with his cousin J. W. Brown. They sold the song to the president of Sun Records, the legendary Sam Philips. This was before it became popular for singers to sing songs written by others, Lee Lewis was a pioneer in this area, as well as bringing the piano into Rock-n-Roll. Married for the first time at 16, he has since divorced six times. Over the years he has overcome quite a number of personal tragedies and struggles, such as losing two sons in different accidents and a struggle with alcoholism. He managed to conquer his struggles and still performs today.
Julie Gibson – Age: 106

Julie Gibson was known for being a talented actress, singer, and performer! She started her career in 1937, as a singer in the Jinny Grier Orchestra. The same year, later, she started participating in the radio program of Joe Penner. Her Hollywood career started in the 1940s, starring in several films; Lucky Cowboy, Detective, and more! later in her life, she worked on the small screen in a few episodes of Family Affair. Julie divorced twice, and her last husband died in 1981. She herself sadly passed away in 2019.
Doris Day – Age: 97

Prior to becoming one of the most loved actresses of the 1950s and 60s,
Doris Day was actually a singer and dancer, yet on the way back from her Hollywood dance audition she was injured in a car accident which sadly ended her dancing dreams.
However, the good thing is she went on to have an extremely successful Hollywood career, starring in films such as Calamity Jane, The Man Who Knew Too Much, and Pillow Talk, even having her own very successful TV series, The Doris Day Show. Sadly we lost Doris Day when she passed away in 2019.
Barbara Eden – Age: 88

Barbara Eden is most well-known for her title role in the NBC sitcom I Dream of Jeannie, which ran for five years, and saw her quickly leap up the ladder of fame. People Magazine ranked Eden as “One of America’s 200 Greatest Pop Icons of the 20th Century”. Eden has starred in numerous films and television shows over the years, in 2011 she released her best-selling memoir The Jeannie out of the Bottle and is now enjoying her retirement.
Nancy Sinatra – Age: 80

Nancy Sinatra had quite the shoes to fill, being the daughter of the talented Frank Sinatra, but she proved she has been up for the job, making her own name for herself! She started singing and recording music in the 1960s, as well as a few hits with her father and released her last album as recently as 2013. Nancy Sinatra has been known for keeping a low profile but the speculation is that she has now retired.
